Privacy policy

Effective 15 October 2026. This policy describes the account owner's personal archive backup application.

Data accessed and purpose

The application uses Google Drive's drive.file permission to create and read back research archive backup packages in the owner's designated folder. It reads file identifiers, names, sizes, and the contents of files used with the application to verify backup integrity. It does not request Gmail, contacts, or access to all Drive files.

Storage and sharing

Archive copies are stored on the owner's Mac and in the owner's Google Drive. Google authorization credentials are stored in a private local configuration on the Mac. File hashes, identifiers, verification timestamps, and signed receipts are stored on the Mac and the research server. Google credentials are not sent to the research server or this website.

Google user data is used only to provide this backup function. It is not sold, used for advertising, shared with advertisers, or used to train generalized AI models. Google provides Drive storage; Cloudflare hosts this informational website. This website has no application login, archive upload, analytics script, or credential collection form. Hosting providers may process routine request logs under their own policies.

Retention and deletion

The backup process does not automatically delete Mac or Drive archive copies. The owner can delete them using the normal filesystem or Google Drive controls. Server originals become eligible for removal only after at least 14 full days and a matching, recently verified offsite receipt. Failed or expired verification prevents server deletion.

Control and contact

The owner can stop the local scheduled job, revoke the application's access in Google Account permissions, and remove the local credentials. Revoking access stops future Drive backup operations; it does not remove existing copies. For support or a data request, contact the developer using the support email displayed on the application's Google consent screen. This application is managed solely for the account owner's personal use.

Google API data

The application's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
